This year’s Care From the Heart Telethon provides you an easy opportunity to give the gift of wellness to your community by donating to a vital service we have all used at
one point or another. Each year, thousands of people rely on the Chinook Regional Hospital to meet their health care needs.
Large or small, your role in helping us achieve our goal is so important. Without your support, we would not be able to fund enhanced health care equipment, or lend support to vital programs in your community.

Significant benefits for patients, surgeons and Chinook Health have been:
- improved patient safety
- shortened lengths of stay
- capacity to do more complex surgeries through minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques rather than traditional surgery
- improved operating room use and efficiencies
- increased capacity resulting from quicker OR set-ups that are automatically configured for each procedure and for each surgeon
- a major advantage for retaining and recruiting surgical specialists

Funding and Hospital Highlights
More than 150,000 people within the Chinook Health Region visited our hospital for care last year.
The Foundation has funded more than $2 million in equipment and programs
in the last year.
In 2007 Chinook Regional Hospital provided:
- 10,657 surgeries
- 5,660 MRI exams and 12,680 CT scans
- 187 total hip replacements and 379 total knee replacements
- 2,252 babies born; 882 needed the specialized care of the NICU
And thanks to your generous support...
- 1,402 surgeries utilized the new i-Suites from September 07 - February 08
