Friends of the Chinook Regional Hospital (Friends) is a non-profit society committed to enriching patient care, serving the hospital community and fostering volunteerism.
Friends is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who provide vision and direction for the Society. The Board meets ten times per year. For information on becoming a Director, call 388-6311.
What Do The Friends Do?
In co-operation with the Chinook Health Region, Friends achieves its goals by operating a number of service-oriented businesses. Trained and caring volunteers and staff operate these businesses, and it is only through their efforts that Friends is able to make significant contributions to enrich patient care.
Profits from Friends’ businesses are donated to the Chinook Regional Hospital to support patient care, programs and services.
Gift Shop
Located in the heart of the Chinook Regional Hospital atrium is Friends’ core business – the Gift Shop. The Shop is open 7 days a week and offers a full range of items for the convenience of patients, visitors, and staff including fresh flower arrangements, confectionery items, magazines, gifts, and much more.

Uniform Shop
Located in the Gift Shop, our Uniform Shop offers a complete line of professional uniforms. An employee payroll deduction plan is also available for the convenience of Chinook Health Region Staff.

Bedside TV & Phone Rentals
Friends operates a Bedside Television Program, designed to provide patients with entertainment and health education. We also offer a Bedside Telephone Rental Program for the convenience of patients staying at Chinook Regional Hospital. Both programs are offered at reasonable rates and may be ordered by calling the Gift Shop at (403) 388-6289.
Newborn Baby Photo Service
Friends contracts with "First Foto" who takes photos of new babies at very reasonable rates. Order forms are available on the LRH maternity ward.
