Many people support the Lights of Hope annual appeal because they have personal experience of the care provided at Chinook Regional Hospital. Others help because they recognize that, as the Chinook Health Region's major referral hospital for complex surgeries, emergencies and diagnostics, the CRH is a critical resource for all southern Albertans.
You are invited to celebrate the spirit of giving this year by honouring a loved one with a lasting gift to your hospital. With each donation received, the Auxiliary will place a commemorative light ornament on the Lights of Hope Tree in the atrium of the CRH. Your tribute will brighten the lives of patients, staff and visitors throughout the holiday season while providing funds for vital medical equipment and programs.
The 2007 Lights of Hope campaign will support the purchase of medical equipment including plans to finish two state-of-the-art, highly integrated surgical suites. These $1.5 million operating rooms are highly efficient and responsive surgical suites that utilize voice command technology and optimize ergonomics by taking surgical equipment off the floor. This technology will positively impact the care of surgical patients and provide surgeons and operating teams with an optimum work environment while doing advanced, minimally invasive/image-directed procedures. The advanced surgical suites will benefit the entire health region and enhances the region’s opportunities to recruit and retain highly skilled surgeons and surgical staff.
The Auxiliary to the Lethbridge Regional Hospital has been in operation since 1943 and has served the Galt Hospital, the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital, and since 1988 the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, recently renamed the Chinook Regional Hospital. The wonderful ladies who make up the Auxiliary have contributed countless hours to the hospital and have raised well over $1 million through many different projects, including the seasonal Lights of Hope campaign.
