Meet Miles

My water broke 26 weeks into my pregancy. I was transfered from LRH to Foothills in Calgary. My son was born 9 days later on November 9, 2005. He weighed 1010 grams. We were transfered back to Lethbridge on December 2, 2006. We spent appoximately 6 weeks in the NICU at Lethbridge. The nurses and doctors and the entire staff of the NICU who cared for my son were incredible. I spent most days sitting beside his bed watching him grow and develop. Everyone was so caring and pulling for him as much as our whole family was. It was a difficult time for my husband and I, but it was made much easier when we transfered back to Lethbridge and were able to live at home again and get to the hospital easier since it was minutes from our house - not hours.

My son Miles will be a year old soon and is a healthy, active, happy boy. I am so grateful that we have an NICU in Lethbridge because it made things much better for our family which in turn probably helped Miles get well more quickly.
