Peace Tree
Believing that every expression and offering of peace moves us all forward, Ferrari Westwood offers their “Peace Tree” to our community as a gift of hope. Paper cranes, folded as a wish for peace all around the world, adorn the tree. Sadako, a little girl in Hiroshima, who died of Leukemia 8 years after the Atomic Bomb hit, folded cranes throughout her illness believing the act would bring healing. Today more than 10 million cranes are offered each year before the Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima.
Doves, olive branches, feathers and messages of peace also decorate this tree.
And of course, Christmas in itself is a time for peace, a time to focus on that which is beautiful and magical in our world.
